Today is the first of three race days, so around ten o’clock we walk to Waterloo Park, which is next to the Texas Capitol, to take the Bus Shuttle to the circuit. Everything is perfectly organized, in true American style. We join the queue, receive our three-day wristbands so we can use the fast lane on the other days, and board the bus. It takes about an hour to get to the circuit, where we then find our grandstand because the first free practice session is about to begin. We have prime spots in grandstand T12, section 8, row 36, which means we have a fantastic view of Turn 12 and a large part of the rest of the circuit. After free practice, we go to the Grand Plaza where all the merchandise is available and the fan zone and food court are located. There we eat a sausage or a slow-cooked brisket, accompanied by a half-liter Heineken for $15. Around four o’clock we find our seats again for the Sprint Race qualifying session, which Max Verstappen wins so he can start the Sprint Race from Pole tomorrow. Around five-thirty we walk back to the shuttles, which will drop us off at Waterloo Park in about an hour. We drop off our things at the apartment and explore the nightlife a bit more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
